MARGE 14th October 2007

Ever since Aunt Norma passed away there's Hummingbirds that come up to my picture window and peek inside and flutter away. I don't even have a Hummingbird feeder in my yard so I feel like she's checking in on me. A couple of different times when I'd spend the night with her I would get up extra early while she and Don were still in bed asleep and go buy her something special and sit it on her dining room table to surprise her when she got up. She loved that TLC that she got from me and it's wonderful to have only great memories of her and no regrets. There was nothing left un-said or un-done between me and Aunt Norma which brings me comfort. Aunt Norma had a beautiful older Victorian home that I loved to clean for her after they went on to bed. The second she got up and walked into her dining room she'd tell me how nice everything looked and what a knack I had for decorating. She loved it when I cooked for them too. I made home made chili for them a couple times when I was there and she wanted me to make it exactly like I make mine so I did. She told everybody that I made the best chili she'd ever eaten. She said that their son Michael made good chili too but she thought mine was right up there with his! I lost my biggest fan the day my beautiful Aunt Norma died. She appreciated it that I was so good to her Mother [my Grandmother] Delphine Phillips when she was in the nursing home in Hamilton Ill. Aunt Norma couldn't spend much time with her because she'd had surgery on her foot that she injured at work falling over a wheelchair plus Don was in bad shape so she always told me that she knew Grandma was in good hands with me. Grandma Phillips lived with Aunt Norma & Uncle Don before she went into the nursing home. The Doyle Family were very good and kind to Grandma. Aunt Norma & I were the only two family members that ever took Grandma into our own homes to take care of her. Grandma was a wonderful woman as well. I also shared a very close bond with her the year that she was in Montebello Nursing Home in Hamilton Ill. Grandma was loved by everybody at the nursing home and will always be missed. Aunt Norma always told me that I was so good to everybody and that someday I would be rewarded in heaven.
